19:10  Departure on Turkish Airlines flight TK 039 from Johannesburg International Airport to Istanbul International Airport. Flying time is approx. 9 hours and 50 minutes.

Today’s excursion is a memorable Arctic experience in Finland, visiting a husky kennel and reindeer farm around Rovaniemi. The day includes an introduction to the animals, a guided husky sled ride through snowy landscapes, and a visit to see reindeer up close in a traditional setting. Guests also enjoy a warm lunch during the experience, making it a full-day combination of adventure, wildlife, and authentic Lapland culture.

After dinner you will experience the Mystery of Borealis.

This is a themed Arctic experience around Rovaniemi, that combines storytelling, science, and Northern Lights exploration. It is designed to explain the magic and science behind the Aurora Borealis through a guided viewing experience in dark-sky locations. You will learn how the Northern Lights are formed and then try and witness them in real Arctic conditions.

Full Day Arktis Icebreaker Cruise

The Arctic Icebreaker excursion from Kemi is a full-day Arctic adventure on the frozen Bothnian Bay, offering one of the most unique winter experiences in the world. The journey begins with a transfer from Rovaniemi to the coastal port, where you will board a specially designed icebreaker vessel built to navigate and crush thick sea ice.

 

Once at sea, the ship slowly moves into fully frozen waters, where you can witness the immense power of the vessel as it breaks through solid ice sheets, leaving a dramatic trail of fractured ice behind.

 

A key highlight is the ice floating experience, where you will wear insulated survival suits and safely float in the icy sea between broken ice formations. Despite the freezing conditions, the suits provide full thermal protection.

Farewell Lumberjack themed dinner at Poropirtti

 

Your farewell Lumberjack themed dinner at Poropirtti Lodge will be a lively and atmospheric Nordic evening experience set in a historic log building just outside Rovaniemi. You will be transferred to a traditional 19th-century-style wilderness lodge, once used by lumberjacks, hunters, and reindeer herders. The evening includes a three-course Finnish dinner. You will have an opportunity to take part in fun lumberjack-themed activities such as light competitions (like sawing or wood-themed games), along with storytelling, music, and traditional Finnish dances. This evening will be a relaxed “last night in Lapland” celebration. It combines local culture, hearty food, and a fun social atmosphere in a very authentic Arctic setting.
